Being in this state it has made me realize that not only am I hungry for food right now, but I'm also hungry for success. It sounds stupid, I know.. but I want to become the best musician that ever lived. I want to be bigger than Steve Vai and bigger than Yngwie Malmsteen(well, not big like that. hah)... I will, too. [29 Aug 2006|08:59am] [ mood | distressed ] I woke up this morning to my dog scratching the door so that she could go outside and pee. I let her out, and checked myspace like I normally do and one bulletin by my friend's cousin caught my eye.. and I NEVER read this girl's bulletins. It is in this bulletin which I read something that I will never forget. Last night my best friend died in a car accident. He was driving home and he crashed his car into some trees which sent him through the windshield. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and he was probably stoned out of his mind. I don't know what to think of all of this. I just called his parents and talked to them for a while, and I called Adam. Adam is going to clean his car out now.. Why do you always take the good ones, God? Why? TJ had called me on Saturday just to see how I was doing in Boston. I miss him so much.. I miss that smile he had, I miss his jokes. He was at every show that I've ever played since I've known him. Every single one. I'll never forget the first time I met him either at the coliseum where we first worked together. The piercings he gave me will always be a reminder to me of our amazing friendship. I miss you, TJ Easterling. I miss you with all of my heart. I love you, my friend. I'll see you again in paradise. [03 May 2006|03:35pm] [ mood | happy ] [ music | Widespread Panic - Airplane ] April 30th was the day of our show at Thunder's Tavern in Pascagoula.. the benefit for Donnie, my old singer. The show kicked major, major, MAJOR freakin' ass. The crowd was totally feeding off our music and in turn we fed off their energy. It was amazing. I was dead on that night with my vocals, and of course with the guitar I'm never nervous. We opened with Smoke 2 Joints, and then went into Flake.. cracked a couple of jokes.. everyone laughed, and then we played a couple of more tunes. Then Wayne(as of now, former bass player) and I played Banana Pancakes, and then I had my two solo songs. Before I started the songs I talked a little bit about Donnie and how awesome he was, and still is in our hearts and memories. While I was talking on stage, his girlfriend just started bursting out crying. I played #41 and Blackbird dedicated totally to Donny. It was awesome. That was one of the best shows I've ever played. Apparently we are being ripped off by the place we played at.. they took the door money when we were supposed to get the door money and the tips for the funeral expenses... so it's time for a few phone calls. I'll update more about that, and also more about what's been going on in my life these last few days. A lot's going on, a whole lotta good. Get Abducted
